Top Executive Education Courses in Australia

Every price, duration and date on this page was taken from the provider’s own website on 17 August 2026. Australian executive education runs from about $595 for a one-day online masterclass to $28,000 for an eleven-day residential programme. The overseas flagships cost between US$79,000 and US$95,000. Fees and intake calendars are reset annually, usually early in the year, so confirm the number before you commit to it.

The senior residential programmes

These are the ones people mean by “executive education”: short, intensive, expensive, and aimed at people already running something.

If the October intake matters to you, note that Melbourne Business School has already published its 2027 Advanced Management Program sessions — 11–24 April and 24 October to 6 November, both at $28,000.

Two notes on that table. MBS quotes a range on several programmes; assume the higher figure and confirm what the lower one requires. And AGSM quotes inclusive of GST while MBS does not always say — a difference of about 10% on a $15,000 course, so read the fine print.

Mt Eliza no longer exists as a separate school or campus. Melbourne Business School sold the Mt Eliza site and consolidated executive education at Carlton. If you are searching for “Mt Eliza executive education” you are looking for MBS at 200 Leicester Street, Carlton. Plenty of directory sites have not caught up.

Sydney Executive Plus is the University of Sydney Business School’s short-course arm, and its sprints are the cheapest credible thing on this page. They are also the least useful on a CV. A two-week sprint is professional maintenance, not a credential.

The Net Zero Sprint next runs from 13 November, hybrid, 50 hours of total commitment.

The governance route: the AICD Company Directors Course

For executives whose actual goal is a board seat rather than a bigger operating job, the Company Directors Course is the default. AICD prices as at 17 August 2026:

FormatMemberNon-memberLength
Self-paced online$5,800$8,000six months to complete
Virtual classroom$8,300$11,600five full days, one a week over five weeks
Face to face$9,700$13,100five days
Residential$13,435$16,835five days, four nights’ accommodation included

The membership discount runs from $2,200 to $3,400 depending on format, which is more than a year’s membership costs. Do that arithmetic before you enrol.

Overseas: what the flagships actually cost

INSEAD, Advanced Management Programme4 weeks, SingaporeS$67,90015 Mar – 9 Apr 2027

Harvard and Wharton include accommodation and most meals in the fee. INSEAD’s page notes that the fee is subject to change and that VAT or GST applies on top. INSEAD Singapore is the one to look at from Australia: four weeks, one flight, and a cohort that is genuinely Asia-Pacific rather than genuinely American.

On rankings

Rankings get quoted at you in this market as a bare global number, with no ranking body and no year attached. Treat any figure that arrives that way as marketing. The one that can be checked: AGSM’s MBA placed 48th in the Financial Times 2026 Global MBA Ranking, up nineteen places, and AGSM reports it as first in Australia on that ranking. That is an MBA ranking, not an executive education one. The two measure different things, and neither tells you much about a five-day general management course.

What we would do

Work out what you are buying. There are three products here and they are not substitutes. A three-day CEO programme is a rehearsal and a peer group. The Company Directors Course is a credential with post-nominals that board search consultants look for. An online sprint is skills maintenance. Buying the wrong one is the most common and most expensive mistake.

Get the employer to pay, and ask early. Most of these are approved out of a development budget that is set annually. August is late for the current year and early for the next one.

Be honest about whether education is the constraint. In our experience it usually is not. Executives who have stalled have more often stalled on positioning — how the market reads their record — than on capability, and a $28,000 residential programme does not fix a career narrative that is not landing. If you are about to spend that money to make a CV problem go away, talk to us first. It is a cheaper diagnosis.
