POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES- AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! As a job candidate I found them to be unprofessional and unscrupulous in their dealings.
I recently applied for a remote-working job as a copywriter with Executive Agents and was set a task to review a sample executive CV and distill the key points into a snappy introduction section. The deadline for completing the task was set for a bank holiday Monday, but I completed it regardless. I did not receive any contact acknowledging receipt, and when I chased them up I was told they would soon be back to me with a decision on my application. A number of weeks elapsed before I decided to email them again asking about the progress of my application. I was informed by a recruitment agent that he had "no idea" of when I could expect a response, and I duly never heard from them again.
Even if I had totally bombed in what appeared to me to be quite a straightforward task (albeit still time-consuming), the simple courtesy of a rejection email would have been much appreciated. What's more, communications I received from Executive Agents staff rather ironically tended to exhibit extremely poor grammar, spelling and syntax (a point which would hardly provide encouragement for prospective clients...) As for what was ultimately done with the work I carried out for them, it's anyone's guess. A very shoddy operation, from my thankfully brief experience.read more
